Clarify and land your ideal career opportunity.

The Job Search Accelerator is a step-by-step membership program to help mid-career professionals build a strategic roadmap to their next role.

Did you ever imagine......

that you'd devote the majority of your 30's working your ass off to climb the ladder of success,

just to get to your 40's with a deep knot in your stomach—knowing that you’re stalled in a dead end role without a clear plan of what you want next or how to get there.

If you’re like most people at mid-career, you’re probably looking up and realizing that all of those extra hours of unpaid work, all of the organizational dysfunction that you’ve put up with, and all the extra time sticking it out for false promises of growth and opportunity weren’t worth it.

They weren’t worth being “successful” yet feeling unchallengedundervalued, and uninspired by your work.

At this point, you probably want more out of your career.

  • One that’s actually fulfilling.
  • One that is making a true impact on the lives of others.
  • One that makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning.
  • One that values your strengths and expertise.
  • One that actually cares about your development as a human being.
  • One that pays you for the sacrifice of not spending your time on what matters most to you (like family, friends, and living your best life).

But the problem is...

Knowing exactly how to clarify your ideal career and build a roadmap to get there is one of the least intuitive and most soul-crushing processes out there.

Perhaps you think,

  • if I just scroll through enough job boards I’ll feel a spark of inspiration,
  • or if I get my resume ready to go… an opportunity will come my way,
  • or if I add some SEO keywords to my LinkedIn profile… a recruiter will magically reach out to me,
  • or if I tap into my “network” someone will know of a great job for me.

You think, if I wait it out, eventually something great will come my way.

The truth is, it rarely does. At least not until you radically change your approach.

Here's the thing....

  • Job boards are a hot dumpster fire of misinformation, and the least effective/most competitive way to find a job.
  • Tweaking your resume before deciding what YOU truly want is a futile exercise that won’t help you get your foot in the door.
  • Adding SEO keywords to your LinkedIn profile won’t help you stand out if you don’t know how to get in front of the right audience.
  • And your “network” won't be helpful if it isn't aligned with where you want to go.

While you’re waiting it out, you follow free advice from the internet and friends. You find one gem of good advice and it works (for a little bit), but then you get stuck on the next step of the process.

The problem is that free advice is just that (advice based on someone else’s experience). It doesn’t take into account all of the nuances of your unique situation and what you’re trying to achieve.

You’re trying to piece together different strategies and tactics, but they aren’t working for you, and you don’t know why.

What you actually need is a step-by-step process that goes all the way from Point A to Point Z, so that you’re not cobbling together a roadmap without years of data and experience behind it.

Without a proven-process, you'll find yourself throwing spaghetti at the wall, reverting to old tactics (even though you know they don’t work), or giving up completely and staying in a role you know you’re ready to quit….while you watch the days…months….and years pass you by.

Now, let's imagine there's an alternative way.

  • One where you can be clear, focused, and intentional about your next move.
  • One where you can share your career story and value confidently without feeling "salesy", boastful, or inauthentic.
  • One where you can be in control of your process, instead of sending applications into a dark void, or getting auto-rejected after 5-minutes.
  • One where you can actually enjoy the process of networking and building connections, instead of feeling like you’re reaching out like a used car salesman.

One where you can land an offer for your ideal role: one that pays you the $$$ you deserve, one where you can actually make an impact, one that feels challenging and fulfilling, one where you’re surrounded by cool people doing cool shit, and one that encourages you to work hard AND enjoy your life too!

So, how do you make an intentional career move, instead of a haphazard one?

The difference is starting with a solid foundation of clarity.

And then adapting every single next step in the process to the exact target you have in mind.

Together, we will take a totally different approach.

One that puts you in control.

  • We don’t get lost in finding the one “right” career choice, we know there are many options that would check all of your boxes, and then some.
  • We don’t jump into tactics, before we’re clear on the goal.
  • We don’t focus on quick-wins that just boost our ego, we focus on big wins that actually get us where we want to go.
  • We don’t waste time on ineffective strategies that don’t get results.
  • We don’t let the unknown overwhelm us, we take small actions to turn ambiguity into certainty.
  • We don’t let vulnerability get in the way of generating the career opportunities other people dream of.
  • We don’t waste energy on things that we don’t actually want.
  • We don’t settle for “ok”, when we know it’s possible to achieve what we’re truly longing for.

If this sounds good and you want to:

  • Clarify what you actually want for your life and career, so you can stop spinning in circles and start moving forward,
  • Use the exact step-by-step process that helped 100s of my clients land their ideal offer and then negotiate the hell out of it,
  • Get access to weekly live strategy sessions with me, as well as my,
  • All of my courses, workbooks, resources, and all future trainings and course updates
  • Without wasting months, or even years figuring it out all by yourself….

Your job search will go a lot smoother when you know exactly what to do and how to do it.

You'll learn proven strategies to:

Step 1: Clarify your ideal career move

To navigate your career journey with confidence and intention.

Step 2: Articulate and amplify your brand

To stand out and share your value without feeling salesly or boastful.

STep 3: Reframe your job search strategy

To be in control instead of applying into the black hole.

STep 4: Examine your potential career opportunities

To see the real deal within a company and avoid a bait and switch.

step 5: express your fit for the role

To impress the audience and land the offer faster.

step 6: reimagine your negotiation

To get more of what you want and less of what you don't.

Let's deep dive into each step

step 1: clarify your ideal career move

As long as you’re not fully clear on what you actually want, building a roadmap to get there will be a confusing and frustrating journey.

Gaining internal and external clarity gives you a clear picture of the right path for you right now, so you know exactly what your target is and can stop spinning in circles thinking, “Is this the right choice for me?”

When you clarify your target it makes every other step of the process easier because you can tailor all of your actions to your unique search.

Finally, this helps you develop a deep sense of authenticity in your career which allows you to stand out, and become infectious to others.

Amy D.

VP, Concierge sourcing

Like my client Amy who went from feeling a bit lost and somewhat unclear as to what her career goals look like at mid-career to understanding exactly what was important to her and which direction to head in.

In her words, "I’m writing to send a note of appreciation for the resources and advice that have sustained me throughout my job search. I continued to use your philosophy as a guide and am happy to report that it’s finally paid off. I’m going back to full time work in a position that fully aligns with my strengths, values, and interests."

step 2: articulate your personal brand

One thing I’ve watched countless individuals struggle with is knowing how to share their career story and personal brand without feeling "salesy", boastful, and disingenuous.

They worry that if they share the wonderful things about themselves that people will see them as being “too much”, or if they don’t say the “right” words they will actually limit opportunities coming their way.

So, instead they play it safe and generic, to “keep their options open”

But, this is a mistake, because without a compelling and positioned personal brand you’re going to struggle to attract the opportunities you desire.

By working with 450+ Mid-career Professionals, I have seen that the personal brands that attract opportunities have a common denominator — authentic positioning. And, together we’ll use that denominator to find your personal brand story

This leaves you with a personal brand you feel proud of sharing, instead of being timid and leaving all your amazing value on the table.

Megan B.

director of social impact

Like my client Megan B., who felt like she never fit perfectly into one industry so she was struggling to know where to even look for roles that fit my skills and under 'selling' herself for the ones she could find.

Who said, "Going through articulating my brand with Jenni felt like putting a very important puzzle together where the pieces were all there but without Jenni they would have never been put in order. I felt a sense of accomplishment knowing that I was able to take what I already knew about myself and articulate it in a way that I can lean on in professional and personal settings."

step 3: reframe your job search strategy

Everyone claims that navigating a job search is like a full-time job, well it doesn’t have to be if you’re being smart and strategic about how you spend your time.

You can either spend hours a day doom-scrolling through job boards and feeling discouraged about what “you’re a good fit for”. Spending unnecessary brain power tweaking your resume.  And, wasting time and energy applying to the black hole (just to get auto-rejected in 5 minutes).

Or, you can be the driver of your job search, so you’re invited to interview and land roles, before anyone has ever even seen your resume or online application.

Using a proactive job search strategy puts you in control of getting in front of your ideal opportunities, or even better yet having them created for you

Spencer H.

senior product manager

Like my client, Spencer H. who went from receiving countless rejections and feedback from others that he was trying to do was “impossible”, to landing one of the most competitive roles in the market a Product Manager at a leading Tech company with no education and no experience.

In his words, “Now that I've completed the program, I am proud to share that I have gained professional clarity and was able to adjust my search to a more effective method that helped me land my dream job at my dream company.

step 4: examine your opportunities

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s how many people are afraid that they will make the wrong choice for their next career move.

Yet, after spending countless weeks and months in a job search, they accept a job offer after barely peeking under the hood. Generally after about 45 minutes of asking questions in an interview!

I get it. Most people just want the grueling job search process to be over, so they convince themselves that this opportunity truly checks their boxes.

Only to find that they landed an “ok” job, but not their truly ideal job after ALL of that time and effort.

It’s heartbreaking, but it doesn’t haven’t to be this way.

When you join the Job Search Accelerator, you’ll learn new strategies for getting the insider details on companies and opportunities, so you avoid making the wrong choice (again).

If you want to ensure you’re actually landing your ideal role, which is WHY you’re here, it means you need a different approach for really vetting a company before you accept an offer.

Brian H.

senior project manager

Like my client Brian H., who felt is despair that he continued to choose roles that were the wrong fit and he was doomed to do that for the rest of his life, to getting clear on exactly what he wanted and landing it, in a few months time.

”Jennifer is a fantastic coach….. I cannot overstate the value she added…….with her help I've landed in what I consider to be the perfect job for me (for the first time in my life). I feel extremely fortunate to have Jennifer as a coach, and I would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for help and guidance.”

step 5: express your fit

Here’s another thing I know for sure. The way you’re approaching your interviews and cover letters is ALL wrong.

And, you probably know it too

Otherwise, it wouldn’t feel like such a shit process.

There is a critical flaw that almost everyone makes when it comes to expressing their fit, and it’s the one that feels SO INTUITIVE that they could have never imagined there was a different way to do it.

But, what if I told you, there was a different way, one that makes you more nimble, more confident, and more authentic in your approach.

And, actually communicates exactly what recruiters and hiring managers are looking for.

Emily I.D.

sales and marketing professional

Like my client Emily I.D., who went from feeling not great about where she was in her career and unclear of how to position herself for a job that aligned with her skillset, interests and values to landing her target role shortly after working together.

In her words, “Jenni did more for me in one hour than 10 years of therapy. Her ability to quickly provide a framework for thinking about your career is astounding. Within that area, not only had I clarified what mattered most to me in a new job, but I was able to take real tools into each interview thereafter. I found myself using her suggestions in my next interview, and landed a job shortly thereafter."

step 6: reimagine your negotiation

Finally, but not least, what every jobseeker wants is MORE.

More freedom, flexibility, autonomy, money, growth opportunities, prestige, authority, more of whatever is important to you.

But, the thing is they get to the offer and then lose ALL of their power

They are afraid that if they say the wrong thing or push too hard their offer will get pulled and then, they will have to start this whole shit job search process all over again

Yeah, that sounds like a scary prospect.

But, newsflash, the moment you receive an offer is the single moment you will have the MOST power at a company, so you better leverage the hell out of it.

And, you can learn how to walk in with more confidence, to get more of what you want, while making the company feel like they got more of what they want, too.

A lot is possible, when you believe it’s possible and know how to go after it with the right strategies

Nick B.

PRINCIPLE UX DESIGNER, TECHNOLOGY

Like my client, Nick, who went from being on the job market for 7+ months and unclear of what to do exactly to make his big career vision happen to landing his ideal role and negotiating a nearly 6-figure salary increase.

In his words, "Working with Jenni changed the way I see myself, my career, and the entire social and financial economy of my household. Fink Development works at the cutting edge of career transition and growth. This means their approach balances a) leaning into who you are, b) using job search strategies that you likely haven't thought of, c) getting the work-life balance that makes you feel comfortable, and d) making more money."

What you'll get in working together.

You’ll have Office Hours every week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where you can ask me anything LIVE, and get my strategic advising, as well as the help from other Members.

You’ll never get ‘stuck’, as you will have weekly sessions to jump in, ask questions, get accountability, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

You just have to be ready to show up and do the work.

If you’re ready, I’m ready for you!

Prior to working with Fink Development I didn't know where to start. I had years of experience but felt like it wasn't relevant or transferable to other companies. Working with Jenni helped change those beliefs. Jenni is extremely easy to connect with and asks great questions that probe at the underlying fears and biases. Her curriculum started with an exploratory exercise that helped me articulate what I was great at and what types of roles would be a good fit. Beyond that, working with her to fine tune all the relevant job seeking resources (resume, LinkedIn, networking, interviewing, negotiations) was invaluable. Honestly, this was something I thought I'd never be able to get right. I walked away from working with her with a sense of confidence in myself and a job searching strategy. (Oh yea, and a job!)”

  • You’re ready to show up and do the work, you just want to know exactly what to do and how to do it.
  • You hate wasting time applying online to the black void, and you’d rather take a more authentic/organic approach.
  • You want to be super intentional about your next career move and get it right, not land another job that’s the wrong fit or you’ll hate.
  • You’re ready to invest in yourself and know that this is a critical inflection point in your career.
  • You want expert guidance on what to work on next.
  • You could use a pair of fresh eyes on all of your strategies to see where you’re doing things wrong or inefficiently.
  • You know you have more potential for your career, but you’re not playing as big as you’d like.
  • You’re looking for a step-by-step system, not random tactics that aren’t tailored to you.

2. Apply to the program.

Will the price go up?

Yes, the price will go up, but if you join now, the price is yours for as long as you're enrolled, and won’t be subject to future price increases.

Heck, if all you did was commit to yourself and have your ideal offer land in your lap this week, you’d have the exact thing you wanted for just $500.

It wouldn’t be the first time I saw the universe manifest itself in someone’s favor, the second they bet on themselves.

Double heck - keep in mind that my goal is to turn you into my next case study, and brag about your results.

It’s in my best interest that you land your ideal role, as fast, easy, confidently, and authentically, as possible.

What is the commitment?

For the month-to-month membership there is no commitment. Love it or leave it.

“How come?”

I know that if I keep providing exceptional value, people will happily keep paying for it.

Of course, some people will leave, if they feel they learned all they wanted to and achieved their goal.

But, my goal is to keep you learning and growing and achieving more in your career, so you want to (not need to) stay.

Those who stay, will be the people who most jive together and thrive together, which sounds pretty great to me.

Just keep in mind that if you decide to leave, you won't be able to rejoin for 6 months.

When are the office hours?

From May to September Office Hours are on:

Tuesdays at 6:30am-8:30am PT and Thursday at 8:00-9am PT.

From September to May Office Hours are on:

Tuesdays at 10:30am-12pm PT and Thursday at 2-3pm PT.

*Additional hours may be added in the future. If the days/times of the office hours are the only thing holding you back from joining, reach out and let us know. We try to set days/times that make the most sense for us and you.

How long will it take me to get a job?

This is probably the most common question I receive. And, the answer is, it depends. A good rule of thumb for my clients is 4-6 months.

However, here are some factors that can influence your timeline: how clear you are on your target, how many buckets of career transition you're trying to change at the same time, how competitive your target is, how marketable you are towards that target, how far along you are in your search process, and ultimately how much you're showing up and doing the work.

what do i need to get started?

You need to have the desire to want more out of your career.

You need to have the ability to prioritize time on your calendar to do the work and show up for the office hours to get the support you desire.

will this work for my industry?

This program is for mid-career business professionals across a variety of industries, companies, and functions. If you’re in a super nuanced field or role that has unique hiring and career development practices (like a healthcare professionals, lawyers in private practice, or are in the creative arts), reach out so we can discuss further.

Do I  need A certain level of experience?

Yes. We aim to serve mid-career professionals.

People with enough experience to know what they no longer want in their career, and want to be intentional about what they choose next.

That means you likely have 10-15+ years of experience and are at a Associate, Manager, Senior-Manager, or Director level already, and are probably earning $150-$200K+.

If you have more than 15 years of experience and are at the Senior Director, VP-level, or above 1:1 coaching is likely to be a better fit.

Brutal truth

By this point, you’ve realizing that there is a clear path to clarifying and landing your ideal career opportunity.

But, the most common question I get right here is, “Yeah, but what kind of result can I expect?”

What you’re really saying is, “Yeah, this sounds great, but…..”

“I need more time to think about it”,

“I need more evidence to convince me”,

“I need more guarantees (even though I know you can’t give me one)”,

“I need more……”,

It’s always MORE

More time, more research, more data, more certainty, more strategies off the internet.

If you’ve made it this far, stop and ask yourself this:

If I gave you my step-by-step methodology tomorrow, would you know:

  • How to feel confident in your next career choice
  • How to develop a compelling personal brand and career story
  • How to attract career opportunities while you sleep
  • How to develop a targeted company list that puts you in control
  • How to craft your resume without wasting hours of tweaking
  • How to validate that a company is actually a good fit for you before you accept the role
  • How to get feedback on your interview answers and communication style that's preventing you from landing offers
  • How to ease your nerves in interviews for now and for good
  • How to improve your confidence to negotiate for more of what you want and less of what you don't

It's not about more information...

Theoretically, you can find all of that information online for free. Shoot, you could go back and read the 1000+ posts on my LinkedIn page, or my newsletters, or my blog for free.

So, why are you here?

If information was all that mattered, everyone would be living their dream, sipping Pina Coladas on a beach in Barcelona.

But, it’s not about more information —

It’s about connecting the dots & executing.

Make sense? Cool.

Here's a final question for you.

Where will you be in your career 6 months from now?

Today, you have to make a decision.  If you decide to do nothing and wait for “better times”, that’s a decision, too. Your future self will have to deal with that.

But, there’s also a different path.

Start moving towards your ideal next career move right NOW…..

Because you realize that every single day you sit on the sidelines, is another day lost not living your best life, and instead spent counting the hours until you can close your laptop and check out for the day.

When you're ready here's my promise to you...

As we navigate this process together, here are some of my promises to you.

When you show up to work with me, you'll get a balance of coaching, advising, accountability, and humor (often with a cup of coffee in hand).

I will teach you how to.

  • Get clear on who you are, what you care about, what impact you bring to the world, where you're going, and why you're going there.
  • Articulate and amplify your authentic personal brand with clear positioning, so you can start attracting aligned opportunities to you.
  • Develop a customized job search strategy optimized for your unique search and increase your accountability to execute it.
  • Craft your career stories, with in-depth feedback from me, so you feel confident about sharing them with others.
  • Analyze each opportunity, ensure it's truly the ideal fit, and negotiate for what's most important to you.

I will teach you how to stop

  • Chasing the shiny object because you don't know what you want.
  • Endless contemplation of whether you're making the right choice.
  • Spinning your wheels with how to spend your time.
  • Struggling with what to say or how to say it.
  • Wasting time with applications for jobs you don't even want.
  • Choosing the wrong job so you can end the job search process.

If you're ready for a time-proven method to set a clear vision of where you're headed and building the roadmap to get there for now and forever!
